Killjoys Attack the Rack Recap Season 3 Episode 5 – On one level, “Attack the Rack” is a study of the adage that no plan survives contact with the enemy, especially one as diabolical as Aneela.

Dutch and company kidnap commanders of other RAC (Reclamation Apprehension Coalition) commanders and convince them that the Hullen have infiltrated their organizations. Dutch’s plan is to board the ship where her RAC unit is located, flood it with paralyzing gas, separate the Hullen from the Humans, and then kill the former. The commanders will be able to see how it’s done and will be able to cleanse their own units.
However, someone talked, and the Hullen are ready. Johnny and D’avin get captured and the former ruthlessly tortured by Aneela’s agents to find out how the green plasma pools were poisoned. Dutch gets away and, in trying to evade the Hullen, runs into Banyan, the new head of her RAC unit, who she hates. Dutch stabs her, assuming that she is Hullen. It turns out that she is not one of the enemies. Dutch has just fatally wounded someone who might have been a powerful ally, much to her everlasting regret.
Meanwhile, Fancy, who had been a Hullen and had been cured, interrogates Turin’s Hullen prisoner to find out who the mole was who alerted Aneela to the raid. The session turns into a gut check to see where Fancy’s true loyalties reside, which turns out to be with the humans. However, Fancy seethes with resentment that he is being doubted by his new friends.
The traitor turns out to be one of the new tech nerds that Dutch and company had recruited. He gave up his friends for the promise of immortality. In return, they double cross and kill him.
D’avin finally has enough of his brother being tormented and responds, using his latent Hullen-derived powers, in an eye-popping fashion. It is Dutch, though, who comes up with the solution that wins the day in the form of a genetic bomb designed to take out the Hullen planted in the armory by Turin.
The celebration by the survivors of the raid at the Royale, with Pree declaring that no one will leave still in pain, is short lived. Aneela has one last card to play. She blows up the ships where the RAC units are located, killing thousands. Team Dutch is left with very few allies.
Aneela is talented, playing off Delle and her second in command Gander against one another to distract them from her true intentions. But she does not know about the poison that took out the plasma pools or the genetic bomb. She may be too blinded by her desire to destroy Dutch to see the threat that is next to her. Delle has her own agenda, which may not include Aneela coming out a winner, and she is willing to do anything, even using sex with the Hullen queen, to accomplish it.
