Black Sails XXXV Season 4 Episode 7 Recap — We’ve just got three more episodes of Black Sails to go, and it looks like The Powers that Be are going to send the show out with a bang. We pretty much know, at this point, that no one’s safe from a purge, and while this episode didn’t have as much action as previous episodes, it still filled in a lot of the blanks, and let us know how things will all be ending with a nice, neat bow. Perhaps they’re getting ready to lead into the rumored spin-off?

So let’s get right to it: Silver and Flint are on the outs. Again. And it looks like things are going to stay that way, which — while sad — was necessary for the show to continue.
Naturally, the centerpiece of their fallout is what has caused countless friends (and family members) to fall out with one another since time immemorial: the money — and, more specifically, the treasure. But we have a two-fold problem to contend with, as well: Flint is absolutely stark raving mad, but Silver’s head isn’t in the game. He’s too wrapped up in Madi, and the entire pirate army is going to suffer as a result of this.
One of the most powerful moments of the night came from Rogers’ time with Eleanor, who is now — unfortunately — deceased. For one of the first times ever, we see Rogers as a human being with real emotions, not as an enemy of the pirate anti-heroes.
Ultimately, though, this story set out to do one thing: set up the final confrontation between Silver and Flint. Silver’s only motivated by one thing — Madi — and Flint is only motivated by one thing — madness. Can either of these men, who are on a collision course with one another, stop the runaway train before it derails? And if not, who will win in the final collision?
Tune in next week when we see more of how Flint — and Silver’s — final curtain calls will play out.
